Located on the Olympic Peninsula about 6 miles south of Port Townsend, Washington, Kala Point sits in tall evergreens along the shores of Port Townsend Bay. Kala Point is a waterfront gated community comprised of homes, condominiums and timeshares.
Covering almost 370 acres, Kala Point in 2012 had 371 single-family homes, and 72 unbuilt lots. Additionally, there are 51 Bluff condos, 37 Harborview condos, and 10 Kala Heights condos. Timeshare membership controls 38 units.
KalaPoint was originally incorporated as the Kala Point Swim and Racquet Club on October 2, 1975. The first lots were sold along Windship Drive which was the first residential street to be paved in Kala Point. The first condominium buildings were completed in 1977.
Initial development was in stages with the Windship division being followed by Foxfield. Kala Heights was completed in 2000 with the Lagoon and Terrace divisions being completed in 2008.
Owners and visitors to Kala Point enjoy many recreational opportunities including a partially covered seasonal swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, exercise and game room, children's playgrounds, tennis courts, and a boat launch with a boat dock for day use. Over a mile of low bank sandy waterfront provides easy access to the Puget Sound for boating, water sports and leisurely walks on the beach
